I am not the most experienced fisherman. I can actually count the number of fish I have caught in a lifetime on one hand. My experience has been putting a worm on the hook and casting it out into the world, holding your breath and just hoping for the big one to take a bite. I find fishing calming and relaxing, but I have never really looked into the basics of it. If you hand me a tackle box, I wou...

There are many different types of hobbies. If you are a person who likes the country side, the trees, flowers and waterways that make the rural areas of our country so peaceful, calm and beautiful, then maybe you should consider Landscape Photography as a Hobby. You don't need much to start out with, but it takes focus and practice. If you take up Landscape Photography as a Hobby you will also giv...

I don't know about your area, but our summer here in Missouri has been extremely hot and humid. They have had constant heat stroke warnings. The heat index has been reaching upwards of 109 on several days. Depending on your physical capabilities, it might not be hard for you to stay cool, but unfortunately there are still households that don't have air conditioning. Those that do, are finding it h...

I've often seen postcards, stamps and
pictures of different places and countries. While some of them looked
so peaceful and desolate and others full of life, it was like looking
into a dreamworld. The Antarctica is something of a mystery. If I
were going to start collecting stamps and postcards, I think I might
try t...

I have often commented
before about how busy we are today. There has been so much
technological developments over the years,. This technology, that was
supposed to make life easier, seems to take up every spare moment of
our day. People are so involved in the “me” attitude, trying to
make the best living, have the b...

As I get older, and my arthritis gets
worse, I find that trying to have the large gardens and beautiful
yard gets harder each year. This year I have decided that everything
will be right outside my back door. We have a Patio area that extends
from the house to the garage, with little bit of yard on each side.
This is...

I have never been the one who did the
barbecuing. It has always fallen on someone more experience. This
summer we have decided that we might want to buy a BBQ grill. Since I
don't know much about it, I have been looking around for tips. I
didn't know that there was way to check to see if it was hot enough,
just by us...

I love tomatoes. My experience in
growing them has not been great. Last year I bought tomato plants
that were already started. They were actually labeled “container
tomatoes”. Tomato plants are not always what you think they would
be. The agricultural industry has taken so many of them and cross
bred them to have big...

I'm sure there is no one who doesn't
consider the amount they spend on groceries every month. We are
always looking for the best buys. Unfortunately, you may find that
each grocery store has different specials each week, so to get the
best buys you have to travel from one to the other. But are you
saving any money, i...

I have recently had a chance to look at
some of the stamps and postcards from different places. I have
perused through some that are absolutely beautiful, depicting the
country side of many countries. Some of the stamps and postcards are
made to celebrate historical events for that particular country.
Every country h...
