We've gone over the basics of what should be in a healthy diet. We have covered carbohydrates, and fruits, and vegetables, and pastas and grains. But there are some super foods out there, that we should take into consideration. Some of them we only eat on special occasions, and others we only include on a whim. These foods should also be included in our healthy diet plan. The first is the Avocado. It is high in fat, but it is good fat, the monounsaturated fat. It also contains vitamins a, e, and b. It has lots of potassium and a drop of copper. Not only that, some research claims that the avocado is excellent for getting rid of belly fat. Sweet potatoes are next. We normally only eat these with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. They should be included all the time, because they are very rich in vitamins and minerals. They are also fat free and low in calories. Soy beans is on the list too. These are a good source of fiber, contain calcium and potassium. They have also been shown to help with the symptoms of menopause in a natural and safe way, compared to hormone replacement therapy. Other foods, rich in minerals, vitamins, and low in fat and calories include Lentils, Kale, Barley, and dried figs. They should be included in regular meals and snacks because the health benefits go above and beyond the norm |
