Ginger is another remedy that is used to relieve allergy symptoms. It not only covers up the caustic effect of allergies, it boosts your immune system, and reduces the secretion of histamines. Now green tea, we know is good for a lot of health benefits. It is not only used for its antioxidant properties, but is used to curb appetites, sooth sore throats and cough, and clean your system. Both green tea and black tea can block the secretion of histamines. Thyme is great for reducing congestion, however it is suggested that you don't drink more than one cup a day of thyme tea. The tea is also used for clearing up coughing, relieving stuffy noses and clearing up sinus problems. All of these can be associated with allergies also. Vitamin E also has anti-allergy properties. Taking a supplement for a couple weeks can help build up your system enough to fight off allergic reactions. Mix ½ teaspoon of lime juice with 1 teaspoon of honey in a glass of warm water and drink every morning for the months that you have allergy problems, however, you should not use this remedy if you are allergic to citrus, or have stomach problems that worsen with the consumption of citrus juices or fruit. |
