Millions of people are diagnosed with Arthritis every day. Even though the most common, Osteoarthritis, doesn't usually appear until after the age of forty, there are many other diseases that fall into the general category. Arthritis can be hereditary. Some people are actually born with different strains of this debilitating disease. Pain associated with this disease can often times become unbearable. Anti-inflammatory medications along with pain medications can be used to alleviate it. Exercise is important, as it will help you maintain your range of motion and flexibility. There are over the counter, natural remedies, which can actually be better for your health than some of the narcotic pain relievers prescribed. Keeping an open mind, researching, working with your doctor, exercising, eating a healthy diet, and keeping your weight within normal ranges can help deal with the pain. Changing some of your habits, when you are diagnosed with this disease, may be necessary. Harsh, high impact workouts may not be something you will want to continue to do. You may want to look into lower impact or isometrics to replace your program. Walking is always a great exercise, whether you have arthritis or not. Keeping yourself mentally challenged can help with the anxiety and depression that accompanies this disease. Talk to others who have it. Join some groups and learn new things. |
