The first on the list, and probably not the best is, of course, caffeine. However, there is a difference in what kind of caffeine you use. The caffeine in colas does not seem to have as high a boost effect as the caffeine in coffee. Carbohydrates are another energy choice. They give you a boost and keep you going, but be careful of the amount you eat. Too many carbohydrates can elevate your sugar level and cause you to gain weight. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables is another way to boos your energy levels. The fresher the better. Whole grain foods such as cereals can give you the big boost in the morning to get you started. Also, if you eat five small snacks or meals a day, compared to three large meals, your energy levels will stay at a more even keel for most of the day. Eating three meals leaves too much time in between for your energy levels to drop, and causing you to feel hungrier to, which it turn can cause you to over eat. Stay away from energy booster drinks that may combine caffeine with herbs, they can sometimes cause your hear rate to fluctuate in an unhealthy manner. |
