Natural Ways to Combat Flu and Colds

Every Winter you hear about new and different strains of Flu and Virus. Each year the medical experts of our country come out with different flu vaccines. Some are successful at combating these virus' while others don't do much of anything. This year they are stumped. There is an outbreak, close to pandemic proportions, of the Swine Flu and they haven't been able to develop a vaccine.


There are some remedies, that are natural, and a few other things you can do to prevent getting or keeping the different varieties of flu, including the Swine Flu, which is supposed to be on of the worst strains to ever develop. Cleanliness is one of the most important combatants against getting these virus. Was your hands every chance you get. Before every meal, after riding public transportation, after touching counters and shelves in stores, after touching office machines and definitely after using public toilet facilities.


Disinfect your home, especially areas touched by all family members, such as counters, sinks, doorknobs, computer areas and phones. Increase your intake of vitamin C and Zinc, eat a healthy diet rich in fresh vegetables and fruits (which by the way should be washed really good before eating. You can also help boost your immune system by drinking Green tea, eating Garlic, using Olive leaf extract, and using Black Elderberry Extract.


If you contact a virus, stay warm, get rest, drink a lot of clear liquids, take Tylenol for pain and stay away from other people. Contact your doctor if you don't start to feel better, but be aware that antibiotics will not do anything to cure the flu or a cold.
