Eating Organic

Today, more and more people are trying to take control of their health by improving their diets, which is great. One way people are doing this is by eating organic foods. There are many beneficial reasons why you should at least consider eating some organic food in your nutrition plan.

One reason to eat organically is because organically grown foods are free from chemicals and toxins. In order to grow organic foods, there are specific laws the growers must follow. Foods made organically cannot have pesticides or any chemicals that are synthetic put on them. Although farming in the U.S. has gotten better about the amount of chemicals used, a lot of our fruits and vegetable are imported, which makes it harder to know all the chemicals used. These pesticides and chemicals have been linked to cancers and other damage to the body. Also, if you have children, it is even more important to eat organic, because children are more vulnerable to all of the chemicals used in regular food.

Another reason to eat organically is because when you do, you preserve the quality of the air and water. Everything we spray into the air or put on food eventually gets to the ground water and the air. We breathe in these pesticides and chemicals and drink them as well. By eating organically, less gets in to the air and water. These are just a few reasons why you should do more research about eat organically. Check out your favorite foods and see if they are offered in organic form. Try an organic meal for your next family dinner and see if anyone can even tell a difference. Eating organic means eating healthy without loosing taste; you only gain more nutritional value.
