Maybe I'm weird in saying this, but I still believe that if you want to drink safe water, boil it. My mother used to boil all of her water. She said it would kill any bacteria that might be in, destroy any kind of germs and would make it safe to drink.
I recently read the label on a bottle of water I bought at the store. I was completely shocked. It said it was purified water, but it also mentioned that it could have come from tap water at the location of the plant. There was no guarantee that it was fresh or purified spring water at all. So why are we paying $1.00 or more for someone elses tap water?
You can get filtering systems and pitchers, but basically all they do is run the water through charcoal. This takes out some of the minerals, but does it really clean the water. The water we get through our tanks is a combination of rainwater that has been collected, water from lakes and streams, and used water from the city that has been treated and released as clean back to our water systems.
You might want to do some research on your water treatment plant. You can probably do this over the internet. You might also start reading the labels on the bottles and jugs of water you buy from the store. Unless it says from fresh springs, or guarantees that it is purified water, you may be paying for someone elses tap water. |
