Do You Really Need Supplements and Vitamins

Do you really need all those supplements and vitamins you've been taking? I have yet to have a doctor tell me to take vitamins. They have suggested that I take Omega-3 because I have high cholesterol, the kind that they are certain is hereditary. They also suggest I use aspirin therapy because of this too! They suggest I take calcium for the osteo-arthritis, but I have never had a doctor tell me to take multivitamins unless I wasn't going to eat healthy.


I'm sure that some peoples lifestyle eliminates the proper input of certain vitamins and minerals. But if they learn to make healthy choices when they are eating out, going through a fast food drive through or just grabbing something at a Quick Trip, then they would not need to worry about taking supplements.


If you would opt for the side salad at McDonald's, Burger King or Sonic instead of the burger, or grab a Tuna Salad Sandwich at Quick Trip, you will be doing yourself a big favor. Lots of people actually depend on supplements to get the vitamins and minerals their body needs, because they are just too lazy to change their eating habits.


Try making different choices when you eat, and you won't have to worry about taking supplements. Exercise as often as you can, even if it is just going for a nice long walk, grab fresh fruit and vegetables to munch on, stay away from fatty fried foods, over loaded sugary foods and don't overeat.


If you think there is a possibility that you are vitamin deficient somewhere, ask your doctor to find out. They can run a simple blood test to find out if you are lacking in the vitamin and supplement area, and even then, it may just be a matter of eating more or less of certain foods.
