Organic soil contains a lot of nutrients. That means that only natural organic matter has been used to grow the crops. The word organic is described as the type of food that has no additives, preservatives or pesticides added and is grown only in natural soil. Our bodies have the natural ability to shed off harmful bacteria and microorganisms that attack our systems. When we eat anything that has all the additives in it this interferes with the process and causes an imbalance.
Even meats such as beef, poultry and dairy products are injected with growth hormones and antibiotics to prevent diseases from spreading animal to animal. When you shop read the labels on meats making sure you purchase the ones with the "free range" label. That means the cattle or animals are allowed to roam in large tracts of land and eat grass or food that has been fertilized with organic matter. The soil stays rich in nutrients and is free of toxins. In an organic garden no pesticides are used. Use a natural technique to get rid of the most damaging bug, the slug or snail. Put some cabbage leaves down at dusk; in the morning remove it along with the slugs and put them all in a bucket of warm water mixed with either soda, salt or vinegar.
Even when buying fruit, such as apples, check to make sure they haven't been dipped in a waxy substance to increase their shelf life and stop the water loss.
