Understandably enough, this rule has just gone into effect. English is one of the major languages nationwide. If you get a group of golphers together, and they can't communicate with each other, then how do they know what the other person is trying to say. The LPGA started out as a U.S. Tour, so it would only seem right for English to be the language of choice. There were several varied views about this new rule. I, for one, think it is a wonderful idea, since I don't speak anything but English, I find it hard to follow anything on Television or in person if it is spoken in another language. For more information on this, especially if you are a golfer you should look at “Making LPGA Golfers Speak English”. |
