The Benefits of Eating Natural Foods

In today's society, there is an influx of fast food restaurants and quick microwaveable meals. The rate of disease is on an increase because it has become acceptable to over-process, overcook, and add additives and pesticides to the food you eat. What happened to the old adage "If it isn't broke, don't fix it?" Remember, back when your grandparents were growing up, they ate balanced, home-cooked meals using fresh meats, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, and nuts, along with whole grains.
By eliminating the way the older generation ate, you are eating more refined carbohydrates, more fats, more protein, and a lot less fiber, which in turn sets you up for serious health problems down the line. The following are four reasons for eating natural foods. To begin, you would be eating more whole, unprocessed, non-artificially colored, non-preservative filled foods. Remember that it is better to steam your vegetables, rather than boil them, as you get the most beneficial vitamins this way. Then you have organic farming, which does not use synthetic chemicals or other unnatural approaches to food production. It is easier on the environment and causes less erosion of the soil, as well as being more humane to the animals.
Now what about the pH factor of 7.0? By eating organic, you are eating less acid foods. Your body needs to stay in an alkaline state because if it is in an acid state, you are considered to be in a toxic state of being. This means that you are in an inflammatory condition and this can cause illnesses like arthritis. To avoid this, eat a lot of organically grown fruits and vegetables. Finally, stay away from foods that are high in additives. Many countries have banned the use of additives in foods, due to the increase in birth defects.
