If you want to incorporate whole grains into your diet, then the here are the first steps. Take your white bread and throw it away. Don't ever buy it again, it is garbage and has no nutritional value except what they say they put back into it. Take your saltines and cheesy, chickeny, or vegetable flavored crackers and throw them in the garbage too!! Get something like wheat thins.

You can cook whole grains in your meals also. They make good side dishes and salads (pasta) and are great in soups and stews. You cook them just like you do rice. The heavier the grain, the more it will need to be cooked.

If you want to use grains a lot for your meals, you might trying cooking it in bulk. Once refrigerated, it will last for several days and you just have to heat it up and add your other ingredients to have a fresh whole grain meal.

Here is a list of some whole grains you might want to get. Of course some of these you will have to go to a Natural Food or Health Food store to get, you won't find them all at your local grocery.
