Energy has always been a problem, especially if you are getting older, are under stress ( who of us isn't) and are constantly on the go. Here are a few tips to keep that energy going.
- You should always have some kind of breakfast, and make sure there are carbohydrates and protein in what you choose to eat for this meal.
- Stay away from the idea that you have to eat 3 full bodied meals a day. It is better to eat 5 small meals spaced abouyt 3 hours apart. So include carboydrates and protein a few times a day, don't over do it, and don't forget to throw in some fresh veggies and fruit
- If you have to have coffee, thats fine, just don't do it by the gallon, one cup here and there and add some 2% milk to include some calcium and vitamins.
- Snack away on fruits and vegetables, eat what you want, but don't overeat. Fruits have natural sugar and to keep your energy going you need to keep your insulin levels even all day long.
- Drops and rises in your insulin can creat the rollercoaster effect, where you crash and burn for awhile, and then your energetic, then you crash and burn again. Not only does that make your day a mess, but it is not good for your body either.
- Stay away from zero calori foods and drinks, Zero means nothing- you need to keep track of your caloris, you also need ot absorb them so the body has something to burn off.
