Healthy Winter Foods

So most of your garden veggies have been picked, canned or eaten. here are a few suggestions for healthy foods you can eat in the winter.
 
Legunes (otherwise known as beans) are a healthy source of protein. Kidney beans, Garbanzos, Pinto Beand, Lentils, Navy Beans, Great White Northern Beans, and Black beans. You can make a meal out of beans such as soup or chili. They are also great thrown in your salads or used as a side dish.
 
Turkey is a lean, low calorie meat that usually appeas at the groceries more in winter than any other time of the year because of the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. It is rich in protein, and can be used in sandwichs, soups and salads.
 
Winter Squash such as Butternut quash and Acorn Squash are rich in several vitamins including B1, B6, Folic Acid , Magnesium and Vitamin C. Cooked as a side dish or stuffed and baked as a main dish, these squashes will warm your tummy on a cold winter day.
